You can select text, then drag it to another location. You can drop the text at a different location in the same window or in another one.

To drag and drop text:
  1. Select the text you want to move.
  2. Press and hold the mouse button to drag the selected text to where you want to place it.
  3. Release the mouse button to drop the text.

Dragging text moves it to the new location. To copy it to a new location, hold down the Ctrl key while dragging the text: the cursor changes to indicate a copy operation. Press the Esc key while dragging text to cancel the drag-and-drop edit.

By default, drag-and drop-editing is disabled and you must enable it if you want to use it.

To enable or disable drag-and-drop editing:
  1. Choose Tools > Options or press Alt+,.
  2. Click Text Editor.
  3. Set Allow Drag and Drop Editing to Yes to enable or to No to disable drag-and-drop editing.
